The timing is urgent. Cihan’s been jailed without cause in Turkey since September 2020, and his trial resumes on May 18. Every message makes a difference.
The LabourStart action reminds the Ankara prosecutor, the Turkish minister of justice and the President of Turkey of their country’s human rights obligations. Sign on and encourage them to release Cihan and let him come home to his life, his work, and his partner in Canada.
Send your message now, and share widely in your networks.
It’s also critical to keep Cihan’s case on the Canadian government’s agenda. If you haven’t already, now’s the time to send a message to foreign affairs minister Marc Garneau and other government officials.
Our solidarity will help bring Cihan safely home.
